Neighborhood Vibe
The Neighborhood
Melrose is a small community sitting between Kirkwood and Bradford Avenues, just west of 8th Avenue South. The 8th Avenue South corridor is home to lots of unique businesses that have called the area home since as far back as the ’70s and quickly became mainstays in the area. Today, though, those are just the tip of the iceberg. It was a go-to hangout thanks to the Melrose Theater, Billiard Parlor, and Bowling Alley, all now tastefully reimagined into entertainment options that suit today’s residents, and standing as a great example of Nashville’s growth and transformation.
The Market
Housing options range from stone and brick cottages to midcentury modern ranches to mixed-use developments. Many of the older homes have seen a facelift, but the charm of the original neighborhood remains.
The Lifestyle
Whether you’re looking to do some antiquing, want to catch a comedy show, or would prefer an evening of fine-dining, Melrose and 8th Avenue have something to offer all. The area is becoming more and more walkable, and locals enjoy strolling along 8th Avenue for their Sunday coffee or to one of the many bars and restaurants for fun nights out. The bustling area is ideal for anyone looking to be close to downtown.
